The Sweet Guide to Lingerie

Go ahead and complain about your wide hips, blossoming buttocks and voluptuous thighs! If your weight gain typically takes place predominately in these areas, then you are relatively lucky. A proportionally small waist and narrow upper body, even on a heavy frame, lessens your likelihood of death by heart disease, attack or failure dramatically when compared with an apple shaped woman. Any excess of weight will create an unnecessary stress on your bones, tendons and organs but if you are a pear you definitely can afford to carry a bit more weight than your counterparts.

A pear shaped woman is also fortunate from an aesthetic viewpoint. While she may feel larger than she should be, even with a few extra pounds her figure adheres to the archetypical feminine ideal.

When choosing a good panty cut, the back is not nearly as important as the waist. Due to the pear's waist to hip ratio a low rise or bikini waist is almost always preferable unless the woman in question is trim or only a few pounds overweight.

A good if somewhat overdone lingerie option for the pear figure is the baby doll nightie because it will provide masking partial hip coverage. A chemise or a long night gown with a low cut bodice is also an excellent choice because these cuts will draw attention to your upper half. A classic teddy should not be discounted provided you are holding no more than a handful of extra softness because it will make your already small waist seem even tinier, giving you an exaggerated, idealized feminine form. Don't overlook lingerie involving capris, pants or harem style leggings. Anything you can do to play down your bulges below the waist will show off your best half and help you feel the way you want to for your next intimate encounter.

If you are prone to weight gain do you see it first in your face, then next in your middle? Do you buy pants based on waist girth rather than on hip width? Are your legs your pride and joy, but you just wish your waist didn't seem so straight up and down? Do your cycles seem more irregular and your menstruation more painful on average than other women of your acquaintance? Yep, you're an apple. Welcome.

Admittedly, an apple shaped woman is not only less classically proportioned she is also prone to packing all manner of the fat that can kill her directly around her heart. Even a trim apple is at greater risk for heart disease than a pear shaped woman of the same height holding twenty to thirty pounds in excess. Weight control in apples is not only a matter of physical comfort, but of long term health. Some basic nutritional information should be employed by you for every meal you eat. Eat more fruits and vegetables with every meal to assist your digestion and metabolism. Don't partake of animal fats or red meat in general if you can help it. When it comes to oils try to stay light: virgin olive oil for cooking, flax oil for dressings. Try to use more seeds, nuts and fish for your protein needs as most of these are high in omega fatty acids which will aid your body in a natural reduction of harmful fats.

A flattering panty can take many forms but it could be useful to disguise your slightly thicker middle with a high waist as in a traditional thong. Try one in a darker shade to create a flattering optical illusion.

As for lingerie styles, try to make purchases that cinch or disguise your middle while accentuating your gams. Teddies with very high sides can paint your figure in entirely new and flattering lines. Corsets, bustiers and waist cinching garments are indispensable to you. Play with hosiery and have fun, but try to avoid dark bottoms in combination with light tops because this pairing will leave you looking your worst unnecessarily.

History of Lingerie

The origin of lingerie dates back to the pre-Christian days. It has been said that the Minoans of Crete first invented the corset, which is very different when compared to the lacy corsets worn today. Back then, women wore tight bodices made of bone that did the exact opposite of the typical bra: they pushed the breasts outward for the whole world to see, instead of hiding and protecting them. Women's breasts were a common sight back then, which was not a bother. The bodices, however, were extremely uncomfortable.

During the Age of the Roman Empire, underwear was available but optional. It was normal to wear nothing at all under a toga, but sometimes, a loincloth or a shorts-like piece of clothing called the subligaculum would be worn. The top part of it was called the strophium, and might as well have been the very first bra. They were simply made of cloth and worn over the breasts, most probably for protection.

The chemise, which was invented during the medieval era, is proof that it was during that age when the sexual repression was at its peak. The chemise was worn in between the undergarments and outer garments to prevent the outer layers of clothing from gathering too much sweat. They were washed regularly and they were also shaped in order to flatten women's breasts completely. Made of iron, the contraptions compressed the waist and hid the chest.

HOM Men's Underwear

Throughout he 1970's HOM established a reputation for creating avant garde styles, stretching the boundaries of contemporary underwear at the time with flesh and see through designs and exclusive ultra soft polymid and lycra cotton mix fabrics that attracted considerable interest in its ranges. Many would have said that HOM were far ahead of other brands at the time.

HOM went one step further in the 1980's and when every one was pushing the classic loose fitting boxer short, HOM were a head of the game by developing the boxer shorts with an inner brief that provides you with all the support of a supportive pouch and yet the look and freedom of a boxer short. These provided everything the active man had been seeking for a long time and recognised the demands that active males require, particularly during sport.

The 1990's sees possible one of HOM's most innovative designs in men's underwear with the launch of its amazing HO1 design, which includes the famous horizontal opening and using anti allergy fabrics. This takes their current focus on underwear for the active sports man to new levels and provides easy and hygienic access for both right and left handed men. So popular is this design that it even makes it in to the National French Collection exhibition at the Louvre Museum.

Men's Nylon Underwear

Nylon underwear is available in various colors and prints. Different types of men's nylon underwear are available such as boxer briefs, bikinis, thongs and G-strings. Boxer briefs have longer shape but they maintain the tightness. Bikinis are widely used by both men and women. String bikini briefs only have the front and rear sections and there is no fabric on the side of the legs. The nylon thong is widely used because of its erotic appeal. This type of underwear is perfect for wearing under tight trousers. G-string men's nylon underwear usually has a front pouch for the genitals and no rear coverage.
Underwear with 100% nylon is the purest nylon underwear. The price of nylon underwear varies with the percentage of nylon material contained in it. Men's nylon underwear is available in various sizes. Men need to choose their underwear according to their size. Nylon underwear is suitable for all types of dresses. Because of its light weight, nylon underwear is perfect for people who take part in physical activities.

The Right Bra For Your Body

The beauty of the fashion world is there number of variations and choices you have. Part and parcel to this is the fact you can try on different sizes of a style to find the one you are most comfortable with for a brand. When it comes to bras, however, most women get the sizing wrong.

You know what size you are and use that as a starting point when you go shopping for clothes. As you well know, however, a starting point on size is rarely a finishing point when it comes to finding that fit that feels just right. You might go up a size and you might go down one. Regardless, the point is to find that fit that does the trick.

Most women take the same approach when it comes to buying bras. On the one hand, this makes sense because so many bra manufacturers use slightly different measurements when assigning sizes to their products. A 36D from Goddess Bras does not fit the same as a 36D from Le Mystere. On the other hand, this approach is poor as most women approach finding a fit for a bra the incorrect way.

The vast majority of women wear bras that are the wrong size. The figures are as high as 80 percent. This results in problems ranging from headaches to sore shoulders to knots in the middle of the back to numbness in the upper body. Basically, women are suffering health problems from bras that simply are not appropriate for their body types and bust size.

Underwear Matters

There are so many beautiful women out there of all skin types, tones & sizes. We each have our own individuality that makes us unique. Some are good at business, some at baking, others at charity, maybe, and then you have those who focus in on fashion and creativity. But regardless of what you do, we all have an image to uphold, and hopefully, we all have a life outside of 'what we do' where our appearance matters, as well.

So, where I am going with all this? Well, if you are going to take the time to look the part for any event, whether it is work, play or a date, please consider all the essentials, and don't leave out ANYTHING, including what goes on under that fabulous outfit you're going to wear!

Picture it, she has on a dress that is a perfect color for her skin tone, her make-up is just right, and 'Oh!' look at that hair! Then you notice her great shoes and that nice pair of earrings she's wearing... but then, all of a sudden, as you're discreetly looking at her and thinking how nice she looks... you focus in on that bulge right around her waistline! How could that be?!? She looks incredible from head to toe, but she forgot about her underclothes?

Quick Diets That Work

Dieting has become a national pastime with advertisers, authors and companies making billions pitching us the next magical weight loss book, device or pill. While one would think that all these available remedies and programs would cause a significant drop in the obesity problem, on the contrary?during the past two decades our national obesity rate has soared. Dieting has turned millions of us into food junkies, driven compulsive eaters who grow fatter every year.

Studies have shown that diets more often than not lead to weight gain! Because the body does not know the difference between dieting and starving, once a severe dietary regime is concluded it will voraciously store food as fat as a protection against further unreasonable onslaughts. It also showed that those people who want to shed off excess weight tend to perform worse when tested for reaction times, rapid information processing and memory. How on earth can you concentrate on anything when there are chocolate biscuits and bars to think about?

So you want a diet that works? Here's one. Drink only water, eat only a thousand calories each day, and combine it with 3 minutes of aerobic activity 5 days each week. It's a sure thing you'll shed weight. But there are two issues. First, cravings will likely ruin the diet. 1 calories and all that exercise will eventually lead to ruinous hunger and binge eating. First it's a potato chip or piece of cake, then it's an extra hot dog and the whole bag of chips, and then the diet is ended. The second issues is the diet eventually ends. You eventually go back to eating the same old way. Next spring, or next fancy dress occasion, or next family trip, or simply the next time you look into a mirror on the way out of the gym it will be time to return to a diet to lose the unwanted pounds.
